Director Patrick Dallaire Heading
to Europe to Coach Austria's Division I 'EC Red Bull Salzburg' |
After
spending nine years with the Halifax Mooseheads, Patrick Dallaire is
pleased to announce that he has accepted the head goaltender coaching
position with one of the top Division I teams in Europe, the EC
Red Bull Salzburg. In addition to coaching the
Division I team, Patrick will also be responsible for goaltenders
throughout Red Bull's farm team system. Patrick joins one of
the most respected technical coaches in the game, Pierre Pagé,
who joined the team as head coach in the 2007-2008 season. EC
Red Bull Salzburg was formed in 2000, and has become one of the top
Division 1 teams, winning the Div 1 championship twice in the past 3 years.
"This
opportunity to coach some of the top professional goaltenders
playing in Europe is very exciting and personally rewarding."
said an enthusiastic Dallaire.
With
this move, Patrick will not be joining Drummondville, and hopes to
return to BTNL
in the spring of 2010. Patrick will be in Europe from early
August 2009 until the end of the season in spring, 2010.
During
his time with Halifax, Patrick successfully coached four Moosehead
goalies to the NHL (
Pascal Leclaire - 1st round in 2001 by the Columbus Blue Jackets,
Jonathan Boutin - 3rd round in 2003 by the Tampa Bay Lightning, Jason
Churchill - 4th round in 2004 by the San Jose Sharks, and
Jeremy Duchesne - 4th round in the 2005 by the Philadelphia Flyers).
While in Halifax, Patrick also coached Peter Delmas to his 2nd round
pick by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2008 NHL draft. Patrick
is excited to bring his proven track record to Red Bull Salzburg for
the upcoming season.
Patrick
wishes to thank all his Nova Scotia goalies for their hard work over
the years, and looks forward to continuing to work with you in the
NSGA summer camps.
